The CX500C Custom of 1979 kept the standard bike's engine almost unchanged but dressed it in factory-custom style. It had a high, wide handlebar, a lower stepped dual seat, a smaller teardrop tank, short megaphone silencers and a 16-inch rear wheel, with conventional headlamp brackets replacing the standard model's cowl.
